What It’s Like to Train at American Strength: Behind the Scenes of My Coaching

When you walk through the doors of American Strength Training Center, it feels different right away. This isn’t your average gym — it’s a hidden gem. It’s a place that fosters dedication, hard work, and community. And as your coach, I’m here to guide you through every step of your journey to becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident.

A Gym Like No Other

At American Strength, we take pride in our elite equipment and supportive atmosphere. Whether you're deadlifting on high-quality platforms, squatting with perfectly maintained power bars, or working on accessory movements with best-in-class dumbbells, every piece of equipment and the gym layout is chosen with your success in mind.

Our gym isn’t about fancy gadgets or shortcuts; it’s about mastering the fundamentals of strength. You’ll see lifters at every level — from beginners learning their first deadlift to seasoned athletes fine-tuning competition lifts, even world record holders twice your age. Everyone here is focused on growth, and you can feel that energy the moment you step inside.

My Coaching Style: A Holistic Approach

Training with me isn’t just about lifting weights; it’s about building a strong foundation that integrates mobility, strength, and nutrition. Every session is designed around your unique goals and body mechanics, and I make sure to educate you along the way. Whether we’re perfecting your squat technique, addressing shoulder mobility, or dialing in your nutrition for optimal performance, everything we do supports your long-term health, strength, and longevity.

I like to think of my coaching style as personalized, intentional, and supportive (and no, I’m not just here to count your reps or make you sweat — sorry!). I’ll push you when you need it, but I also prioritize making things make sense as we go. Listening to your body and adjusting as needed, I help you feel what we need to build muscle. My goal is to equip you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your health and fitness long after our sessions.

Integrating Mobility, Strength, and Nutrition

One of the key components of my coaching is focusing on mobility. Before we even touch a barbell, we’ll go through mobility assessments to identify any limitations or areas needing attention. Whether it’s improving ankle mobility for deeper squats or increasing shoulder range of motion for safer pressing, mobility is the foundation for everything else we do.

Strength is the core of our training sessions. I focus on compound movements, progressing from goblet squats to barbell squats, Romanian deadlifts to barbell deadlifts, and dumbbell bench presses to barbell bench presses because these movements deliver the best results. But we don’t stop there — accessory movements are strategically added to complement your progress, prevent injury, and build well-rounded muscle development.

And then there’s nutrition. What you fuel your body with is just as important as how you move it. Whether you’re looking to build muscle, lose fat, or simply feel better, we’ll work together to create a sustainable nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. Nutrition isn’t about strict diets or deprivation — it’s about creating a plan that makes you feel strong and energized.

The Community at American Strength

One of the best parts of training at American Strength is the community. It’s a place where people genuinely support each other. You’ll find lifters of all backgrounds cheering each other on, sharing advice, and celebrating wins — big or small. It’s a gym where everyone feels welcome and can thrive, no matter their starting point.

Why American Strength is the Perfect Place for Your Goals

The combination of elite equipment, expert coaching, and a supportive community makes American Strength the perfect environment to reach your fitness goals. Whether you’re a beginner wanting to learn proper lifting techniques, an experienced lifter aiming for a new PR, or someone who just wants to improve overall health, you’ll find the tools, knowledge, and encouragement to succeed here.

Training at American Strength isn’t just about building muscle or strength; it’s about building a better version of yourself. And I’m here to help you every step of the way.
